Turn wind into a better environment

Wind is the wildlife-friendly option. Not only does it help purify our air and water, wind turbines are significantly less harmful to surrounding wildlife than other energy infrastructure like fossil fuelled power stations and electrocutions from power lines.

Did you know that according to experts, fossil-fuelled power stations actually kill 17x more birds than wind turbines to produce the same amount of energy? [1]

Although it is easy to mistake wind farms for harming flying wildlife because of their height, extensive studies reveal that the overall threat is minor compared to other dangers like collisions and electrocutions. [2] Research shows that collisions with glass from buildings and homes are 2560x more fatal to birds than turbines. [3]

In the same way that many people treat their windows to prevent bird collisions, we take many steps to ensure that in protecting biodiversity on a wide scale by cutting harmful emissions, we’re also minimizing everyday risk for wildlife. See what we’re doing to ensure a safer, cleaner, and strong environment.
