Launch Your Career in Renewable Energy

Are you ready to climb new heights?

We are focused on attracting and recruiting a diverse and inclusive workforce where everyone has equal access to opportunities and feels valued within the renewable energy industry.

Vestas has an exciting opportunity to increase our technician job role through a 4-week technician readiness program. This program will prepare you to begin your career working in renewable energy as a Vestas Level 1 Service Technician. Upon successful completion, you will be assigned to one of our many wind farms across the US.

Applications for the fall cohort are now closed. Please check back another time.

I had a limited base knowledge of wind turbines, but it felt like a great industry to join. I was lucky enough to be selected to participate in this program in April 2023 and recently completed training. I have been working on a service site ever since. I finally feel like I am home and in a career that I love and am happy to be apart of every day.

I'd encourage women to consider a career in wind and to not let any fears they may have dissuade them from their own personal ability to be anything they want to be in this world.

Learn more about a day in the life of a Vestas wind turbine technician!

As a wind turbine technician, you’ll use your skills and training to perform maintenance and/or installation work on assigned wind turbines under minimal supervision.

During a typical day, you may be working 250 feet above the ground, or working in small spaces to perform maintenance and repairs. You’ll be outside, and sometimes in inclement weather. You’ll be climbing, carrying tools and equipment, and moving parts to complete your work.

Teamwork is a priority at Vestas, and our reputation for professionalism, safety and attention to detail are important to our customers. We also encourage recommendations to improve the safety and quality of our work.

The recruitment aspect has been supported by Oregon Tradeswomen. Oregon Tradeswomen is a non-profit organization focused on transforming lives by building community and economic independence through empowerment, training, career education, advocacy and leadership development in the skilled trades. They are based in Portland, Oregon.
