Blade production progressing as planned at Nakskov factory

At Vestas’ factory in Nakskov, Denmark, specialists are developing the 115.5m long blades for the V236-15.0 MW™ prototype using the mold which was built at the factory in Lem, Denmark.

The very first blade is currently being produced, which will be cut up afterwards and undergo a thorough inspection process to validate the production capability of the design for critical-to-quality characteristics

The factory in Nakskov currently employees around 460 experts in their field. Since the factory opened in 1999, producing blades for the V66 turbine, the facilities have constantly expanded to accommodate the increasing length of modern blades. In addition to the 80m blades of the V174-9.5 MW™, the production halls are now capable of handling the 115.5 meter blades of the V236-15.0 MW™ prototype.
